Abbotts Hill Elementary School was established in 2000 with an enrollment of 735 students. The opening of Abbotts Hill Elementary School was due to an increased population in the northeast Georgia(Duluth/Alpharetta) area. Students from three other elementary schools; Findley Oaks Elementary, Medlock Bridge Elementary, and State Bridge Crossing Elementary came together to form Abbotts Hill Elementary School. The School is located north of the Chattahoochee River, not far from the Gwinnett/Forsyth county lines. Abbotts Hill is part of the Chattahoochee Cluster of Schools. Students who complete fifth grade at Abbotts Hill Elementary School will go to Taylor Road Middle School; then Chattahoochee High School.
